FXB Steaks are carefully selected 2 year old Irish heifers, dry aged by Harry Buckley in our own butchers for a minimum of 28 days until fully matured to improve texture & flavour.
We char grill all our steaks, however we will pan-fry on request.
All steaks served with a choice of 4 sauces, Pepper sauce, Garlic Butter, Red wine Jus or Wild Mushroom sauce.

A silky wine with a sparkling ruby colour from the Beaujolais district, long finish with very rounded tannins and intense fruit, but not overly complex. 100% Gamay grape An excellent wine.

2. Volnay 1er Cru Clos des Chénes, Domaine Antonin Guyon.  2005.
Made from 100% Pinot Noir. Gorgeous wafts of raspberries & cherries on the nose. Ripe & rich palate with a twang of tannin & good acidity.  From one of the great burgundy vintages.

3. St Nicholas de Bourgueil, Domaine Mabileau ‘Les Rouilléres’, Loire. 2010.
Refreshing summer red fruits, very ripe & flavoursome.  Tim Atkin of The Observer reckons this is one of the best value reds in France.

7. Chateauneuf-de Pape Vignobles Jerome Quiot 2009.
This is rather more easygoing than many in the appellation, less of the sleeping giant more of the ‘drink now’ variety and that suits its purpose down to the ground! Medium colour, forward spicy berried fruit and a long, rich finish.

8. Chateau Pontac Lynch, Cru Bourgeois, Margaux. 2004.
A polished fine wine from a good vintage.  Finely perfumed, with masses of vibrant, intense dark fruits and a long lingering finish. This is what claret is all about, every sip offers a new dimension.

The second wine of the famous Chateau Gruaud Larose, this offers very good value for money, not at all flashy but very rewarding.  An accomplished balanced wine with a long finish, from a vintage which offered great purity.
